For more then 700 years, on Easter Monday, the St Veronus procession has been parading through the streets of Lembeek and the shrine of Saint-Veronus is carried along the municipal borders by the "Kasdragers" and four soldier groups. The march is 18 km long and shows similarities with popular marches in Wallonia, but is the only militarized procession in Flanders. The military character originates from the phenomenon during the Ancien Régime, called "la jeunesse" or the youth. Since 2019, the Saint-Veroon march has also been recognized as Flemish intangible cultural heritage.

This walk is a shortened version of the route and partially runs in the opposite direction, but still breathes the atmosphere of Easter Monday. You will pass by authentic chapels and receive a lot of interesting information about the legend of Saint-Veronus and the different groups.
