Fancy an outing for all the family that's both fun and educational? Den AST, Halle's local history museum, is the place you're looking for!
The old Van Roye malthouse
This extraordinary local history museum is housed in the old Van Roye malthouse, a listed building and an industrial heritage gem. Beer is a central thread in Halle's history, and the city once counted a large number of malthouses. The Van Roye malthouse was the last one of these to close its doors, back in 1984. The discovery trail at Den AST will tell you all you ever wanted to know about malt and take you right back to the heyday of the malthouse with unique stories from the people who were there.
